When we heard our ministers and other learned religious athorities speak of salvation with the conceptual thought of religious deliverance from sin.
Thought this is true as a religious prospective . . . salvation goes beyond that. Salvation's use also extends and is aplicable to life in general; into areas that most people never thing of.
Salvation is defined as something saved, that is - deliverance (lifesaving); hence aid, victory, prosperity: health, help(ing), salvation, save, saving (health), and welfare.
I believe that every person is born in life for a specific role and along the way, 'salvation' is used in common ways, often and for/with spiritual protections and purposes.
Since Yahweh is the benefactor of life, He determines whether we are even conceived, whether we are born, and how long we may live; along with other parameters of existence.
Babies born prematurely have a very risky probability of life and survivors are sometimes impaired with one or several mental and physical handicaps.
+ Every year, an estimated 15 million babies are born preterm (before 37 completed weeks of gestation), and this number is rising.
+ Preterm birth complications are the leading cause of death among children under 5 years of age, responsible for approximately 1 million deaths in 2015.
+ Three-quarters of these deaths could be prevented with current, cost-effective interventions.
Across 184 countries, the rate of preterm birth ranges from 5% to 18% of babies born.
I was one of the 1 in 10 babies born (preterm) prematurely, yearly. I was born at home on the worst snow storm day's in Philadelphia, Pa. in 1944. I weighed 4lbs and 4 ounces and was transported to Jefferson Hospital, where I later lost the 4 ounces. My father took me home where the family cared for me until I gained suffient weight and improvedment in health.
I survived without any notable disabilities, except for a sickle cell trait which sometimes affects my immune system. I count my survival and health as acts of 'salvation' with spiritual protections and purposes.
Here's a list of some of those acts of 'salvation' with spiritual protections and purpose for me.
+ Severely cut my wrist in an accident that could have caused my death in a city (Williamsburg, Va) where African/Hebrew Americans were not allowed medical treatment in a 'white only' hospital.
+ Stung by over 50+ plus bees that put me in a coma and survived from my grandmother's 'home medical care' and prayers. Again, was not allowed treatment in a 'white only' hospital.
+ Survived being bitten by numerous copperhead snakes when picking berries, collecting firewood, and playing in the woods of Williamsburg, Va.
+ Nearly drowned in the James River, Va., where I was baptisted, and sank to the bottom of the river where both feet got stuck in mud up to my knees. Two Malak (angles) rescued me. This I know for sure. Praise Yahweh.
Psa_40:10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.
+ Survived gang wars from black and white gangs as an innocent bystander.
Growing up in the world
2Sa_22:3 The Sovereign of my rock; in Him will I trust: He is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.
+ Was draged through an industrail machine that tore off an outer coat, a sweater, shirt, a pair of pants (except the belt), ripped off one shoe that I was wearing and I survived with minor injuries. Back problems now though.
+ As a policeman (PhillyPD), survived being shot three times; once by another cop; one' a foot pursuit of an armed robbery suspect and on another occasion by a murderer who turned on me with a 12 gauge shotgun. Praise Yahweh, 'lifesaving salvation' was right on time.
Any life threating or serious injury occurrences that anyone's survived are believably 'acts of salvation' with spiritual protections and purposes that were not thought of as so.
1Ch_16:35 And say ye, Save us, Yahweh of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to Thy holy name, and glory in Thy praise.
