Study to Show Thyself Approved
Study to Show Thyself Approved

Study to show thyself approved unto Yahweh

2Ti 2:15 (GW) Do your best (study - apply your mind to learning and understanding; especially by reading) to present yourself to as a tried-and-true worker who isn't ashamed to teach the word of truth, correctly.

Matthew Henry Commentaries

Observe:
The care of ministers must be to approve themselves unto Yahweh, to be accepted of Him, and to show that they are so approved unto Yahweh. In order thereunto, there must be constant care and industry: Study to show thyself such a one, a workman that needs not be ashamed. Ministers must be workmen; they have work to do, and they must take pains in it.

Workmen that are unskilful, or unfaithful, or lazy, have need to be ashamed; but those who mind their business, and keep to their work, are workmen that need not be ashamed. And what is their work? It is rightly to divide the word of truth.

Not to invent a new gospel, but rightly to divide the gospel that is committed to their trust. To speak terror to those to whom terror belongs, comfort to whom comfort; to give every one his portion in due season, Mat_24:45.

Observe here:
1. The word which ministers preach is the word of truth, for the author of it is the Sovereign of truth.
2. It requires great wisdom, study, and care, to divide this word of truth rightly;

Site Notes:
Great quantities of words in the English language may be very perplexing. Many words often have several meanings, usually in a confusing or deceptive manner.

Example:
Pro_1:7  The 'fear' of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

This scripture fearlessly emboldened me to go public about:
"the horrifyingly postulated misconduct within the Philadelphia PD and the city's in-justice systems cited to, for and against African/Hebrew American people, other minority ethnic and religious groups (African American Muslims in particular)

It also rid me of the codependency with the controling, immoral, and morbid powers of militarized law enforcement (especially SWAT), and all of the twilight zone court systems (city, county, state & federal) within and throughout the United States.

* fear - to be afraid of or feel anxious or apprehensive about a possible or probable situation or event (fearful expectation)

* reverence - regarded with feelings of respect and reverence; consider hallowed or exalted or be in awe of

Yahweh does not and has never wanted us to fear Him . . . He wants us to reverence Him. The scribes who translated the scriptures deceptively used 'fear' against Yahweh's people, in and for a controling and codependant religious relationship for the one's who paid them to write it their (ruling class) way.

Codependency is a controversial concept for a dysfunctional helping relationship where one person supports or enables another person's addiction, poor mental health, immaturity, irresponsibility, or under-achievement (spiritual attainment).

All it means to 'study' . . . is to simply read.

Pro 1:2  To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;
Pro 1:3  To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;
Pro 1:4  To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.
Pro 1:5  A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

Even if you are not a religous person, what's been written has simple and logical connotations.

Except for Yahshua and John the Baptist, the 'Saints of the Gospel' with wisdom, knowledge, understanding, justice, judgment, equity and discretion . . . were older men. It takes time to earn these virtues.

So study and live in a righteous manner and be rewarded.

Pro_3:2  For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

May the blessing of Yahweh be upon you. Halleluyah (praise)
